AIHA Standards Council

The AIHA Board has recently approved the formation of a Standards Council to improve our standards efforts on several fronts. It will ensure that AIHA maintains an appropriate and coordinated level of involvement in national and international standard development activities and will improve the feedback loop between the board and those serving as representatives to standards committees and groups. It also will provide a mechanism for AIHA members to provide input into the standard development efforts of their association. And finally, the formation of this body will also provide those individuals who represent AIHA on ANSI committees a forum in which to discuss common problems or requirements.

Standards Council Mission:

To ensure that AIHA obtains and maintains an appropriate level of involvement or leadership role in industrial/occupational hygiene (IH/OH) related standards globally.
To encourage broader participation by AIHA in the development of international IH/OH standards while supporting and strengthening the existing domestic standards development efforts.
To support the development and harmonization of national and international IH/OH standards.
To provide a forum for AIHA members to provide meaningful input into the standards development process.
