Industrial hygienists and other occupational health, safety and environmental professionals volunteer their time, energy, and expertise through AIHA’s volunteer groups. AIHA supports the formation and operation of volunteer groups of members who organize to advance the science and practice of industrial hygiene, and thus the interests of AIHA and its members.
AIHA Volunteer Groups consist of committees, working groups, project teams, and special interest groups (SIGs). The purpose of these groups may include activities such as:
· facilitation of networking and information exchange among members.
· development of products, services, and activities for educational purposes.
· development of guidelines and standards for good practice.
· development of statements to contribute to public policy debates.
· collaboration with other organizations.

Volunteer Group Color Councils
In 2011 the technical volunteer groups were divided into 7 different color councils, each color was assigned a board member to act as the board coordinator. The grouping of the councils are available here.
The Color Councils meet each quarter during the year. The goal is increased communications between groups and their board coordinator, sharing best practices, and discussing collaboration opportunities.

Conflict of Interest Form
All active volunteer group members are required to have read AIHA's Conflict of Interest Policy and have an up to date Conflict of Interest (COI) form on file with AIHA. Current volunteers only need to resubmit a COI form when they have had changes in their potential conflicts.
The COI form is available here.
Questions about the COI Policy? An FAQ document if available here.
